Heavy
Metal has been part
of the programming at
Three D in one form or
another since the station
started back in 1980.
But it wasn't until the first
week of February in 1992
when the show changed its
name to POWERSURGE
that it really took
off.

|
Playing
music that is both loud and heavy and
featuring genres such as hard rock,
thrash, grind, hard core, power metal,
glam, black metal, death, ambient, goth,
nu-metal and much more, Powersurge has
developed a large following of listeners.
We enjoy supporting the local, interstate
and international bands and feel the name
POWERSURGE is synonymous with the true
meaning of metal!
|
|
The
content of Powersurge is forever changing
with new and old releases in the weekly
Powersurge
Top Ten
chart
and lots of local music, but its basic
structure runs something like this: one to
two interviews (local, interstate or
overseas artists), a local gig guide,
give-aways, specials, requests
and scoops
of
information
on your favourite bands.
The
show is currently hosted by Julie &
Derek and now includes a Six
Of Your
Best
segment, where selected guests have a
chance to play six of their all-time fave
songs.
